Hello, my name is Sumin Go and I'm a tattooer in Seoul, South Korea. I've known all my life that I'd have a career in art but finding my place in tattooing was a longer journey. I studied animation in school, but I wasn't fully satisfied in that. The digital world of art is vast but when you know, you know- in finding tattooing, I knew. Given animation background, I hold myself to the standard of a computer but appreciate the imperfections that can be expressed on the skin. My style of tattooing is called realism. The art I enjoy doing has always been dark and brooding with an emphasis in technical precision. I'm incredibly lucky to have the support of my family in this career. Being that tattoos are somewhat of a fringe trend, my parents' encouragement a rarity that I can't take for granted in this industry. My philosophy is to keep giving new effort to the things you do, regardless of how long you've done them. No artist should become complacent in their craft, it's not good enough that you were successful yesterday if you don't continue to lay the groundwork for tomorrow's success.
