This sleeve was the client's tribute to his childhood growing up in Quito, Ecuador, featuring his favorite childhood things and places. The mountain landscape across his shoulders was a coverup of an old tribal tattoo, and represents the famous Andes peak he could see from his childhood apartment building, which is depicted on the inner arm. Also featured are his favorite species of Ecuadorian bird, flowers, and tree, as well as one of the beetles he used to catch as a child. On his forearm was an existing angel tattoo that I reworked and incorporated into the rest of the sleeve. These photos were taken upon completion of the piece, since he traveled from Ecuador for the work and I won't be able to easily meet him again for the preferred healed photos.
