Here's the exterior of Chris's Greek heritage sleeve tattoo. We used filigree to incorporate alot of different elements along with breaking picture planes from the Athena to the owl on the uper part. I wanted to create a surrealist sort of collage that creates a story in of itself. The snake ties into the Medusa shield that is behind Athena's head. The olives has a multitude of meaning, one to give homage to his profession as a chef, the other to support the greek theme. The owl  on the top is one of the many symbols of Athena. In the time spent together during the process of tattooing Chris and I had become friends and this tattoo is a great representation of him. I'm looking forward to doing his other arm!
