Help support this website! email this page to a friend This is another cover-up on Senor Giuseppe. He hails from Sicily and wanted to cover yet another monstrosoty (I wish I knew how to merge images so you could see how horrible the before photo is!) When I asked waht he wanted he looked at me funny as I'm supposed to come up with the image idea as well. After we talked a little about him and his life -all he could do was talk about Sicily...so I suggested the symbol. The "trinacria" is an ancient symbol and is believed to have been imported by the Nordic peoples to this region of the world...here the 3 legs represent the "triskellion" and the 3 points of Sicily. In the center is the head of Medusa who was said to change men to stone from looking into her eyes, in other words they would become "petrefied"....the wings on either side of the head are said to mean 2 things: 1. To represent Athena who turned Medusa from a beautiful yet VAIN maiden into a Gorgon for having had an affair with the God Poseidon and for her vanity at having beautiful hair, #2. It is a common attribute of gorgons to be winged. The serpents represent Medusa's once beautiful ringlets. Photo 1 of 2. Image CommentsThere are no comments for this image.
