Inner wrist tattoo

Posted by Inimitable on 08/16/05
Los Angeles, CA

Hi I was looking into getting a tattoo on my inner wrist. I really want the word "inimitable" but I would like it small enough so as to be covered by a watchband (i.e. about .5 in x 1.75 in). I was wondering if this was practical, worth it, or even how much I would expect it to hurt.

yes it its possible i have one one my wrist. my whole tattoo is bigger than that but the i have old soul tatted pretty much where my wrist and hand meet its underneath the rest of my tatt but the actual writing is about that size the one thing u have to be careful of is which kind of script you get for it cuz sum u can only shrink down so far before its gets all blobbed together but it doesnt really hurt that bad the only place thats kindof uncomfortable is in the middle where that artery is but its not like it hurts "that" bad so hopefully that helps ya

Hi, I had my first tattoo last year and it was on my inner wrist, I must say it hurt a lot less than my others (theyre behind my ear and on my back) but I think it's worth it. Tattoos people can actually see are very worth it.

I really like lettering on the wrist too, it's cool.

Hope I helped a little,
Chloe x

i know everyone thinks the point of tattoos is to show them off and be proud but you don't always have to be proud by bragging. I have a tattoo on my inner left wrist and its only there for me. it's not there for the world to see...it means something to me and only me so i dont show it around but i am still very very proud of it. I just thought i'd throw it out there that they can be just as intimate and still meaningful as public and meaningful.

Dude - i doubt anyone reads this Post anymore - but either way.

I don't think it's stupid or wrong at all to want to be able to cover your tattoos when necessary. Personally, every tattoo i have is put in a place where i can show it when i want, and hide it when necessary. And seriously guys, it's pretty freaking childish to mock someone about the tattoo they want.

Pretty Closed Minded.

Everyone has their own opinion, sure, but leave it at that, just an opinion.

Either way - i'm getting a wrist tattoo pretty soon, and yet again, it's going to be a tattoo i can cover when necessary.

I have 2 tattoos and both are put where only I can see them. I got them because they have meaning to me and they are MINE not for the rest of the world. I don't get tats to show the world who I am, I get tats for myself and permenently remind myself of who Ive been. I'll never forget where I came from and for those I do show, they get to see a crumb in the trail that leads to my soul. I tat body for myself, no one else. Why does the world need to know who I am?

Well Perversed

And might I also add that it's childish to stereotype people because of their tattoos..............................just because some ghetto lookin' cat has got a "Downtown Homies" tattoo on his neck under his jaw doesn't mean he thinks he's a toughguy, or is out to commit a crime, or has been in the joint.

Just because a girl likes showing off the two little cherries that she got tattooed right above her tweetie doesn't mean she's easy.

Just because some bald dude has a big swastika tattooed on his arm or chest, it doesn't make him a skinhead. I mean, after all, the swazi was a religious symbol long before the Nazi's perverted it.

And just because some guy has pink flames tattooed on his legs, well heh heh, that doesn't make him a fag in the almost literal sense.

Dammit people, quit judging others on the looks and locations of their tattoos!!!!!!

Im hoping to get a tattoo on my wrist in the next few days.
But ive read the posts, and wondering if it hurts more on the wrist, than on your back.
As ive got one that hits my spine and that hurt.
So, what hurts more?
Wrist or spine?

And if it DOES hurt, so WHAT? Is it somehow not worth the small amount of pain? People forget pain quickly. All these questions about will it hurt or won't it are misguided in my opinion, compared to the worth of that tat to you, the pain is nothing.. my wrist tat hurt a little but it was more than worth it. so go for it

Depends on WHERE on the wrist. If you get tattooed right in the fold where the skin is constantly in motion it is very hard to heal, if its ABOVE the fold its just skin!

Cheers, it depends on what you get and how good it is. If you get something cheesy it wont help, but if you get a brilliant piece of art that impresses people, you might have a better chance.

It was great reading all these posts. I am getting my first tattoo this friday and it is going to be on my inner wrist. I am getting it to honor my brother who I respect so much and is currenlty a missionary in china. I want to be able to cover it up sometimes, because I am getting for myself not to impress some one else. Anyway, it was great to hear everyones opinions on the subject.

Hey Everyone,

I was thinking of gettin an innerwrist tattoo also, possibly of my first born sons name. He is just a newborn and i believe it would be cute and all now. But my concern is how he may react to it when he
is older possibly in his teens. I need your feedback on this...
What would a son think of his mom having his name tattooed on
her when he is older?

Thank-You

I have a tattoo with all 3 of my childrens names in it and they are very proud of it. My youngest was too young to realize what it was at the time i had it done but i'll never forget when she started reading and realized what it said. She walked around all day saying "see that, that's me ". So it's a wonderful idea in my opinion.

I've been thinking about getting a wrist tattoo for over a year now and i've finally come to a decision on what i want. The only problem is that my parents dont agree w/ it and since they're helping me pay for college it matters what they think. My question is for the ppl who have wrist tats, if i get a smaller one, how fast does it heal/is it easy to conceal.
and one other thing, do any of you have white ink tattoos? thats what i'm most interested in.

Thanks!
kat

I'm going to school to be a surgeon, and I don't want people to think bad of me if I'm goin to be operating on them! My dad is goin to kill me when he finds out... My mom told me that I will never be able to look elegant again because of it! But I still like it... My glows in the blacklight 2.. Im excited bout that!!!

Um, look a lot of people think you shouldn't get a tattoo if you don't want to hide it.

I have a small wrist tattoo of a leaf, on the inside of where the vein is.

Actually, I also have a tattoo on my shoulder and on my lower back.

I can cover them all, which for some people is very important. I have professional reasons, plus you have to consider that there ARE, UNDOUBTEDLY, some situations where you will not want a tattoo showing.

I think you should get it! It will work :)

I think a tattoo should be a piece of art for you. and even if you want to be able to cover it, i think its nice to be able to get up every morning and be reminded of something permanant that you decided to put there for your own reasons.

Well I've read what every one has said and to be honest I am still a little nervous. I want to get two tattoos. One on each of my wrists. I already no what I want to get and I means so much to me. I've looked into it a lot. Now I am going to get it next week and it's going to be somewhat small. Now my concern is that my mom said that it was okay to get it but my dad said that i couldn't (hence the reason it is going to be small). I live with my mom... so should I still get it? oh.... and on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the greatest) How much does it hurt (I don't like pain at all)?

so i've wanted to get a white tattoo (small) on my inner left wrist for quite a while now. i'm planning on getting it for my graduation gift to myself, but BOTH of my parents have told me that they won't speak to me and will kick me out of the house if i get one... i know what i want and i know what it means to me, but i don't know how to convince my parents that it won't look trashy or slutty. it means a lot to me that they understand, but i don't know how to break it to them.
im also a bit worried about it fading. i have a friend who got a white one on her wrist and our coloring is about the same (i'm VERY white), but she said it started fading- looks a bit yellow... she also said she was suppossed to get it touched up two more times but she never did. how much did that affect the fading?

I just got a tattoo on my right inner wrist. It hurt, especially when going over the vein and the bone.

It's like getting an IV needle put in your wrist... except a lot more frequent and it doesn't go away after you count to three.

It wasn't enough to make me cry or anything, but I was glad when it was over.
