After graduating high school, Amy attended Loyola University, but quickly realized that career path was not for her. She found a shop to take her on as an apprentice and continues to persue this dream. She owes this all to her parents, who were more than supportive of her choice to drop out of college and pursue tattooing.
Amy started her tattooing career as an apprentice in 2005. After a year and a half, she moved on to work in a shop on the North side of Chicago. After a couple years there, she joined forces with Jose Perez Jr, and started working at Dark Water when it opened 5 years ago. After a 2 year hiatus, she's back and couldn't be more excited.
Amy enjoys drawing in a new school style, painting with india ink along with mixed media of markers and colored pencils. She also does a lot of graphic design work, including advertising for Dark Water and creating business cards, banners, and invitations. (www.birdistheworddesign.com)
