email this page to a friend Something different. The client wanted to get something to represent his love for science. He had mentioned skulls before so I latched onto that and started thinking about ways to make it scientific. That's when I found out that those devices with the revolving rings are called armillery spheres. They were used to locate a spot in the heavens. Normally, the Earth is represented as being in the center of the sphere. I decided that an all-seeing eye would not only look cool, but would represent human thought and progress as well.
