email this page to a friend Ralph was inspired by the Arthurian Legends and wanted to have the serpents tattooed on his arms that supposedly King Arthur had. Instead of going the typical route and sticking 2 snakes on his arms I suggested we do the snakes in Celtic knotowork as the legend of Arthur stems from Celtic myth (most specifically, the Welsh "Mabinogion") and also for magickal purposes, have one serpent wrapping around descending the right arm and the left arm., the serpent ascending..... When we completed the piece, this is what he wore...we also did the piece in the deep blue which was said to be the colour of tattoos on the Celts. They made their "pigment" supposedly using a dye from a plant called "woad" which yields a bluish tint. Image CommentsThere are no comments for this image. Be the first to leave one! |
